What A Total Slapper!

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,

Harbhajan Singh

No one likes cry baby. But this is exactly what "obnoxious little weed" Harbhajan Singh is becoming. When he's not whingeing and mouthing off he's stamping his feet. His last exploit in loss of control on the pitch involved Sree Santh and led to an 11 match ban for the duration of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

But it seems that Singh has seen the light and is remorseful - or bored. As such he has lodged an appeal with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Which probably went something like this: "Honest Guvs I've seen the error of me ways, my slapping days are behind me, I can change - promise. On me Great Aunt Meena's life. Innit Guvs."

Well not quite but we do have a torrid imagination here at Bodog Beat Mansions. Actually the letter he wrote was based on an apology to Sree Santh for the incident in Mohali on April 25. He even said he'd grovel in public:

"Along with accepting my most sincere and heartfelt apologies over this incident, I would like to appeal to the Board's sense of fair play and ask for one final chance before taking any disciplinary action against me over this incident."

BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah said: "Harbhajan has been writing a number of letters and it was not proper for him to divulge the contents. The inquiry is going on. We are waiting for the report."

Bad boy Harb has already had his knuckles rapped by the Indian Premier League (IPL) with his contract cancelled for the rest of the year. And along with BCCI's punishment for a Level 4 offence as per the ICC Players' Code of Conduct - it could mean a maximum punishment of a life ban or a minimum ban of five Tests or 10 One-Day Internationals.
