Putt Your Faith In Charl And Gonzo In Kent

That age old phrase among golfers "driving´s for show, putting´s for dough" springs to mind as a cracking field that includes Sergio Garcia and Padraig Harrington gathers in Kent this week.
A Bodog insider played the Ash course just two weeks ago and declared it a very easy test for professional golfers from tee-to-green. Which means we can expect to see an absolute birdie barrage from Europe´s elite, or in other words a "putting contest".
Titled the European Open, the event sees the current Players´s Champion Garcia and reigning Open Champion Harrington lock horns for the first time on British soil since their nerve-jangling Carnoustie duel. But we don´t fancy either of them to win this.
Instead have a squint at a couple of players who are among the best putters around and are up for grabs at juicy prices with Bodog.
South African birdie machine Charl Schwartzel is quoted at 33/1 and his prowess with the flatstick makes him a genuine contender. Long off the tee, he will have no trouble reaching all of the London Club´s four par 5s in two shots. His current form is excellent having finished 6th and 7th in his last two outings and we expect a bold show.
Another long hitter Gonzalo Fernandez Castano gets our vote at a massive 100/1. Like Schwartzel, the Spaniard (nicknamed "Gonzo") will have no trouble scoring on the par 5s and when his putter warms up he´s one of the deadliest dance-floor merchants around.
Spanish sport is riding the crest of a wave at the moment, Spain Euro 2008 champions, Rafael Nadal French Open champion, Garcia the Players´ champion and Pablo Larrazabal winning last week´s French golf open.
Have a little on Gonzo to keep the rioja flowing in celebration. Check out Bodog's Golf Odds.
