How Football Opinions Change

What a fickle lot football supporters, pundits, players and ESPECIALLY bookmakers are.

At the start of the summer those camel coated bookies needed round the clock protection to stop punters steaming into Manchester United for the 2009 Premier title - such was the feel-good factor surrounding their Champions League win.

Like a bunch of Arfur Daleys legging it into the Winchester Club on the run from Inspector Chisolm they were.

Two months later the punters are going bananas about big Phil Scolari´s Chelsea who are now a ridiculous odds-on price to win the league after just two games of a 38 match campaign.

And at the other end of the league what about Stoke City who at the start of the season nearly everyone said would be cannon fodder?

The Potters looked Premiership material all day long as they did a real number on Martin O´Neill´s Aston Villa winning 3-2. The cheap publicity shot taken by an Irish bookmaker who have already paid out on City´s relegation springs to mind. The fickleness of footy fans will be put to the test again tonight as United travel to Portsmouth.

Harry Redknapp´s press conference this morning was a classic. A reporter asked him if he was happy with his team. "Listen son," replied Harry. "This is the best collection of players at this club since Nelson left dock."

Get on Pompey to shipwreck United tonight. Check out Bodog's Premier League odds and make some cash!
