The red half of Manchester have been belting that one out for the thick end of two decades now, lucky buggers. Lucky because any United side with Giggs in it wins silverware, like his manager Sir Alex Ferguson he´s now got 10 Premier League trophies and counting…
How apt he should score the goal that sealed United´s 2008 league title on Sunday.
And for England supporters it´s a case of what could have been. Just think, the Three Lions might have won two World Cups had the best left sided European player of the last 15 years not opted to play for Wales. Pah. We had to make to with the likes of Andy Sinton instead.
Giggs was an England schoolboy and whoever at the FA was responsible for not nailing him to the English mast at senior level deserves to be cat-o-nine-tailed.
Paul Gascoigne, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry… Giggs is right up there with the true greats of the modern era and is a shining example to any youngsters who aspire to play the game at the highest level.
Never involved in anything unsavoury off the pitch and a one club man, Giggsy only ever lets his feet do the talking.
