Anfield Power Struggle Continues

You really couldn't make it up. Just as Liverpool booked their place in the semis of the Champions League their Texan tycoon owner Tom Hicks has chosen to have a pop at club chief executive Rick Parry.
The grandson of Dandy comic hero Desperate Dan is calling for Parry to resign for siding with co-owner George Gillett. Parry and Gillett were seen together in the directors' box during the Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal.
Hicks also believes Parry has failed to deliver strength and direction in the transfer market. Whether Hicks is right or wrong he could hardly have picked a worse time to start rocking the Anfield boat again.
Hicks seeks total control at Liverpool but Gillett doesn't want to sell his stake to his compatriot.
And that big bloke with the perm and tache who sells hamburgers outside the Shankly Gates says his bessie mate was talking to his sister's brother-in-law in a Toxteth pub last night who reckons the club will see big changes if Hicks seizes total power.
A reconstruction of the battle of the Alamo will take place on the pitch before every home game with Spanish manager Rafael Benitez playing the role of the evil and savage Mexican general laying siege with a thousand troops on a mock up wooden fort.
Hicks plays the role of Davy Crockett and each week bursts out of the gates riding a white mustang with guns blazing to save the day and hands out free cow pies to grateful supporters.
