Grosvenor UKPT Back on Track

The second season of the wildly successful GUKPT is set to kick off on Monday at the Grosvenor Casino in Brighton.
The nation-spanning tour consists of 11 week-long festivals culminating in a Grand Final at the Victoria Grosvenor in December. Each leg of the tour will feature a number of different events (see below), but the £1000 buy-in main event (and the six-figure prize pools it generates) is what has lead to all the hype.
Due to all the cash at stake, the inaugural season of the GUKPT managed to attract some of the biggest names in professional British poker including Roland de Wolfe, Joe Beevers, Victoria Coren, and Marc Goodwin.
The instant popularity and hefty potential winnings of the tour meant that GUKPT events have become major stops on the tournament calendars of players from not only Britain, but also Europe and elsewhere around the world.
Last year former-Eastenders star Michael Greco brought a touch of glamour to the tour when he conquered the field at Leg 3 in Cardiff. Julian "Yo-Yo" Thew also made a name for himself after winning Leg 8 in Plymouth, and then went on to capture the EPT Baden. At the moment, Julian is hoping to control his swings as he heads in the Day 3 of EPT Caribbean Adventure in second place. Good luck Jules!
