When Will I Make A Comeback?

When Will I Make A Comeback Luke Goss?

It's time to dust off the Grolsch bottle tops, add some rips to your stonewash denim and get ready for some high pitched screaming because Bros might be joining the comeback circuit.

Matt Goss revealed that Bros could soon be making a comeback in an interview with the Press Association at the premiere of Hellboy III, starring twin brother and Bros drummer Luke.

Apparently Matt, Luke and even Craig Logan, have had a chat and think it could be a plan.  He said, "Being in a band is like being a politician, you've got to make sure everyone is happy. But Luke, Craig [Logan] and definitely myself - we're all up for it."

"If we can make the numbers work and the venues work, then we're all up for it."

And who can blame them? Nostalgia rules these days and it's also quite financially rewarding and let's face it the royalties must have dried up, when did you last hear a Bros song on the radio?

In homage to Viz Craig will now be known as Ken until the end of this piece. Bros finally split in 1992 after sending teenage girls hearts all a quiver in the late 80's.  Bass player Ken left in 1989 and is now an extremely successful music industry type and was largely responsible for Pink making it big.  Luke went into acting pretty successfully and Matt disappeared into the pop wilderness to 'focus' on his 'solo' career i.e. he wrote some songs, didn't sell many records, allegedly ran out of cash, considered a comeback…

But that doesn't matter pop pickers because Bros could be back *screams*.

Believe it or not Luke, Ken and Matt managed 11 Top 40 singles and three Top 20 albums in the UK from 1987 to 1992. Their hits included 'When Will I Be Famous' and number one single 'I Owe You Nothing'. This particular Beat writer would like to admit that Bros were a bit of a secret guilty pleasure in his teen years.

Matt added that he hopes a reunion tour will recapture the experience of the band's live shows in their '80s heyday.

"I had the best time," he said. "I think everyone that went to see Bros gigs had the best time and that's the one reason we all agreed it'd be a good laugh if we did it."

So, expect lots of screaming that only dogs can hear, providing the old fans can find babysitters.  We just hope Matt's voice can still hit those high notes and Ken remembers how to play the guitar.
