Tom Cruise Being Sued $11million By German Extras

Remember the days when everybody loved Tom Cruise? Okay it was long long before he started loving the aliens and life on Planet Zarg. But in recent times Tom is becoming a right pain in the backside.
His recently beleaguered film Valkyrie is in hot water yet again. It's not been short on the controversy and the latest hitch is the German extras suing old God Squad himself. This comes close to the back of reports that the film has been pushed back to December because noone wants to see a story about Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, who attempted to assassinate Hitler. Or basically Tom playing a Nazi with an eye patch.
Well we reckon that bit sounds okay, Philistines! Anyway those pesky German extras are suing studio United Artists for $11 million for injuries they acquired whilst on set. 11 actors are saying that the trucks that were used during filming were unsafe and that executive producer Tom should have ensured safety. Lawyer Ariane Bluttner reckons:
"Tom Cruise should have been more careful. It is obvious that being the head of a company you have to delegate some tasks. There are employees, colleagues or co-producers, to which you assign things to. Tom Cruise being an actor in the film, it was not his task to be at the set and to check personally whether all the security measures were taken. But according to US law, he can be held legally responsible for the security measures not having been in place."
Being the well travelled lot that we are, we recall with misery the days of the extra and sitting lounging on film sets being treated worse than cattle by assistant directors and wardrobe people. So part of us says, "Go Krauts, take Tom to the cleaners!" But the other says, "its not all that bad, could be worse and be that terrible runs inducing catering food off the set of Holby City," or some such drama! Sorry Beeb but it's true!
Anyway feisty lass Ariane added:
"For the moment we communicated our realistic demand of $11 million. This is going to be the basis of negotiations for now, if the opposite side contacts us and we sit down to talk."
