The Jinx Of Solace

Daniel Craig Chops Finger

The Bond film with the dodgy name appears to be jinxed after another on-set accident during the filming of Quantum of Solace. We've had the saga involving Mark Ronson pulling out of recording because the allgedly crack-addled Amy Winehouse is too, er too allegedly crack-addled to record anything and now a series of accidents has hit the set – and all this before Friday the 13th tomorrow.

It's been revealed that Daniel Craig sliced off the top of one of his digits and had to be rushed to hospital near the Pinewood set.

"There was a minor incident on set," Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group spokesman Steve Elzer said. "Daniel injured his hand. He sought medical attention. He was back on the set within a matter of hours and production went on. A member of the film's production team was slightly more dramatic and said between fainting: "There was quite a lot of blood and it was decided he needed to go to hospital for emergency treatment.

"Some people are beginning to believe the film is jinxed."

The finger injury comes just a week after he required eight stitches for a cut to his face so it appears that Daniel is throwing himself quite literally into the action scenes and we can't wait for our next Bond installment.

It all seems a long way off from Daniel Craig being announced as the new 'maybe not quite as tough as he should be' Bond for Casino Royale, bedecked in a not particularly bondesque life jacket on the raging swell of the Thames.

However readers that's not all from the jinxed Bond film. Stuntmen were injured while filming an action sequence on the winding roads in Northern Italy in April and a fire at Pinewood damaged one of the movie's outdoor sets last weekend.  Beat reckons the documentary on the making of the film will be more action packed than the actual film at this rate.

Quantum of Solace is the 22nd Bond film and scheduled for release later this year, providing the jinx doesn't rear its ugly head again.
