Has Mariah Carey Got Married?
Here we go again on another on / off, are they, aren't they? sham of a showbiz wedding. Apparently the diva of all divas Mariah Carey has wed her little known toyboy rapper Nick Cannon in a not so secret ceremony in the Bahamas. Or maybe she hasn't, or maybe she has but it's not recognised by US law etc etc
The couple sent the rumour mill into over drive last weekend after the scary one proudly waved around a life size model of Ayre's Rock made from diamond on her engagement finger during the Tribeca Film Festival. Unfortunately the rock turned out to be the very same ring Nick had used to propose to his ex fiancée exactly a year ago. Obviously the hand-me-down revelation didn't go down well and she reportedly dumped his cheap ass on the spot.
The rapper must have free styled some clever lyrics because within days the pair had reportedly wed in a quickie ceremony in the Bahamas. A source said; "They have been smitten with each other for days, weeks," the friend said. "And she's always had a crush on him."
Most people are still enjoying dates and wild sex whilst in initial smitten period. Although, this is the lady who decided on the first night of her honeymoon that marriage to sugar daddy and record executive Tommy Mottola was a mistake.
And with every quickie celeb wedding comes the notable absence of the ever important pre-nupt. A worried source said; "There was no pre-nup - there wasn't time," Have no lessons been learnt from the K-Fed v Spears saga? Oh well it'll be interesting to see how MCs $225m fortune gets divided during the obligatory bitter break up that we will be reporting right here this time next week.
So what's the deal? Are they actually Mr or Mrs? Or just desperately seeking a few extra column inches??
Well Camp Cannon is happy to confirm the reports, a family member said: " Yes, we know. He called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him." We're putting money on it that a 'source' from this very camp also leaked the news. Whilst Diva camp is keeping button lipped about the whole affair, her cousins Facebook update said; "Shawn can officially say that what you may or may not have read or heard is NOT true…"
