Brit Actors Nominated For Tony Awards
The 62nd Tony Awards will be happening on June 15th. Anyone who's anyone knows that this means the stars of the US stage get together and give each other a pat on the back for treading the boards.
It's all about the biggest Broadway shows and Whoopi Goldberg will be hosting (let's hope she doesn't cry for being ignored this time). But we're not really that bothered about Whoopi or the other host of US actors; we're more concerned with the Brit pack - oh yes!
Yes, today is the day that the Tony Awards Nominations 2008 went public and our very own veteran luvvies are ripping up the competition. In the Leading Actor category we have Rufus Sewell for Rock 'n' Roll and Patrick Stewart doing his best Macbeth. For the girls Sinead Cusack is representing the UK in the Leading Actress category for Rock 'n' Roll.
The rest don't need a mention because we're just not that bothered. OK we are a little bit. We know that "In The Heights" is nominated for Best Musical, this show was written by a university student and is leading the way in its category. Another goodie is "Osage County" for Best Play. We'd list the rest but we're rather sure that you'd get bored half way through. We don't because we haven't got a single thespian bone in our bodies. Amen!
