Beyonce Officially Off The Market
It's official, after six years of dating Jay-Z has finally made an honest woman out of bootylicious Beyonce in a private ceremony in New York this weekend.
In the most anticipated wedding since the last celebrity wedding (whatever did we do before celebs started selling weddings to the highest bidder?), Miss Knowles became Mrs Jay-Z when they got hitched in an Egyptian cotton lined marquee pitched on the Roca Wear rappers Tribeca apartment roof top. Refreshingly this is one wedding you won't be seeing spread across Hello, or Hip Hop Connection for that matter.
The Roca Wear star wanted a totally private affair but wedding bells hit the rumour radar last Tuesday when the pair got their license. Unfortunately, the delivery of £750,000 worth of wedding décor which included diamond encrusted candelabras and the convoy of blacked out SUVs finally gave the game away. There's a source behind every corner in Celebland!
Security was also extra tight; guests were ordered to leave their mobile phones outside and frisked for guns and knives. Just the usual wedding etiquette then, you know the thing, "Bride or Groom sir? Do you mind leaving the Uzi on the table with the other weaponry, oh and here's the order of service. Have a nice day sir"
Beyonce imposed a three week sex ban leading up to the nuptials but treated her new hubby to a raunchy dance to "Crazy in Love" before disappearing to their crystal filled bedroom at midnight.
The guestlist included the blandest A' Listers out there, the macrobiotic and macro annoying Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay's equally boring and bland Mr Martin along with Bouncey's fellow Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
One name that was notably absent was Rihanna, which might have something to do with the rumours of a fling between Rihanna and Jay-Z. Like a bad smell they just won't go away. It was first reported back in 2005 when Rihanna first signed to Def Jam but resurfaced again in 2008.
Getting the rock on her finger has been a long time coming, Jay Z has been a difficult man to tie down. Back in 2006 Beyonce admitted: "You can't rush a man into anything whether it's a relationship, marriage or having children". Well congratulations to the pair, we'll look forward to pitter patter of little Bey-Jays soon.
