BAFTA's Revealed As Insomnia Cure

British comedy had the last laugh last night at the incredibly dull and uninspiring BAFTA awards, with Gavin and Stacey scooping two awards and Harry Hill also scoring a brace.
BBC 3's 'Gavin and Stacey' the pre match underdogs fought off tough competition from Alan Sugar's Business School for retards aka 'The Apprentice', 'Britain's Got Talent' and 'Strictly Come Dancing but still walked away with 'Programme of the Year'.
Before the show James Corden wasn't quite so confident and claimed that the "little digital show" had "no chance of winning"and branded the BAFTA judges as "pricks" for not nominating the show for Best Sitcom.
So when the show was awarded Best Programme did he eat his words? Did he 'eck, he took the opportunity to continue the rant on stage interspersed with some tears; "How can it win best performance and best programme but not eligible for best sitcom?" No one likes a whinger but thank god he brought a bit of colour to the annual dullfest.
One person who was good game, good game was the legendary Bruce Forsyth who accepted the Fellowship award. The Generation Game geriatric received a standing ovation and said; "When you all stood up I thought you were going, that would have been terrible." Boom and indeed tish Brucie. He also announced that he's booked the Palladium for his farewell show when he's 100. And there was us thinking he was already 105.
The ladies of TV land did their bit and didn't half scrub up well. Even Pasty Palmer aka Bianca 'Rickaaaaay' Jackson from Eastenders managed to swap her velour trackie for a chic Vivienne Westwood LBD. Although, Kelly Brook spectacularly lowering the tone with a freshly clubbed baby seal wrapped around her. It may be Dior darling but it's definitely not in Vogue. PETA won't be happy.
Another moment of controversy came from host the Graham Norton. The 'queen of cutting ' made light of John Prescott's revelations about his eating disorder whilst introducing the stars of Heroes. He said: "Stars claim to have superpowers. Not very believable of course but in a world where John Prescott claims to have had bulimia…"
And that was the highlight of the night from one star well and truly on the wane.
