Another 48 Hrs (ish) Marriage
Eddie Murphy, the man for whom the word monogamy has no meaning has split with his latest wife after three weeks. Eddie 'I really did peak with Beverley Hills Cop in the 80's' Murphy tied the knot with film producer Tracey Edmonds on New Year's Day. Not so much whirlwind romance as whirlwind marriage this time round.
It doesn't really matter though and Eddie won't have to worry about paying out any of his Shrek earnings because the marriage wasn't legal anyway. No, he didn't actually marry his twin he did it in Bora Bora and it later emerged that to make the beautiful union legal under Polynesian law they should have lived there a month.
Apparently they realised this and were about to have a legal ceremony back in Hollywood but split before it could happen.
And get this for a truly wonderful statement from Team Murphy. "After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further. While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends."
(Translation "We've split up")
Murphy who had his humour removed in a groundbreaking operation in the early 1990's has quite the track record with the ladies. Who can forget the fairytale romance with Scary Spice that ended with pregnancy and DNA paternity tests last year.
Eddie is next expected to declare his undying love for a star struck sap tomorrow!
