Another day, another nostalgia induced reunion. This time it’s the ‘Friends’ franchise that’s jumping on the band wagon and heading for the big screen with Friends the movie. It can’t be a cynical move to cash in on the outstanding success of SATC at the box office so we can only assume that after earning $1m an episode, the cash and work has dried up for Joey, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler and Ross.

It’s been a few weeks since Beat dipped its toes into the drug addled, diseased world of our favourite pipe cleaner. At the weekend we saw Amy Winehouse back on stage and from what we can make out back allegedly on just about everything she was on before. 

Looking like she’d been dipped in a vat of St Tropez and then spray painted with a can of Rust Orange car paint from Halfords she gave a shambolic Glasters performance before being flown back by helicopter to hospital. She also managed to elbow a fan in the face, and then go back and punch him for either touching her ‘pushed up to within an inch of her chin’ boobs or daring …

European poker players currently casting an envious eye stateside may be delighted to read that the schedule for the second annual World Series of Poker Europe was announced yesterday.

It will feature bracelets for four tournaments and include a new addition, a £1500 NL tournament for the opening on September 19th.

The main event begins on September 27th and interested players can fork out the £10,000 buy-in at any Harrah’s venue in Vegas, or by contacting the organisers, London Clubs International. They can also visit any LCI casinos.

What better way to commiserate the dare we say it, inevitable exit of Andy Murray from Wimbledon, than by giving him our fabulous Bodog beauty Jessica to look at.

I mean she’s such a stunner the feisty Scot will have forgotten his troubles and woes of losing out to the Muscles from Mallorca, Rafael Nadal - in a shot.

Pride of Scotland Andy Murray´s dream run to the last eight of Wimbledon came to a ruthless end when he ran into Rafael Nadal.

It was men against boys stuff as the Dunblane strokemaker was blown away on Centre Court in straight sets.

Murray is being tipped by patriotic Brits to win a Major one day but the magnitude of the spanking dished out by the muscular Mallorcan clearly demonstrates how far behind he actually is. On that evidence he will never win a Major if he needs to get past a Nadal or a Roger Federer.
