June is a bit of a hectic time in the poker calendar and it is easy to become distracted by all the razzmatazz taking place at Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino as part of the multi event WSOP. However, for all of its high stakes appeal, there are plenty of other attractions taking place around the globe.

Take the Canterbury Park Card Club in Minnesota - it recently offered a Ladies No Limit Tournament. Although the buy in was a paltry $100, sadly it attracted only 29 players. However, the fairer sex are becoming a bigger force in the world of poker, assisted by organisations such as the the Ladies Poker Association.

Never Mind The Welsh Bird… Here's Johnny!

Johnny Rotten To The Core?

Welsh songbird and Dusty Springfield tribute act Duffy was left in tears at the MOJO Honours List Awards last night.  No, it wasn’t another failed attempt by Gavin and Stacey star James Cordon to chat her up it was Bodog’s favourite hell raising punk, the ubiquitous and occasionally snarling Johnny Rotten.

Whether Duffy had been taking full advantage of the free booze at the event is unclear but Duffy thought that hugging Johnny from behind as he was having a backstage chat would be a great idea. Unfortunately Johnny obviously doesn’t take to kindly to being manhandled by attractive blonde singers and promptly broke off the conversation to snarl, “You don’t do that to me.”

Oh, enough of the weeping and the wailing and the shrugging of the shoulders, France. Get over it. You were rubbish, and you deserved to go out of Euro 2008 as early as possible. Now, how to get yourselves out of this mess, and revert back into being a decent football team again?

Here’s an idea – ditch the oldies. Players like Lilian Thuram and Claude Makelele should have been dumped from the side a couple of years ago, after the last World Cup.
