Can't See The Woods For The Knees!

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Is Tiger Woods Just A Great Actor?

Not only is Tiger Woods the greatest player the game has ever seen, he´s also a pretty fine actor. Injured knee? Pull the other one mate. All those winces and feigning agony whenever he played a shot at Torrey Pines were pure illusion.

And oh how everyone seems to have bought it. But not us at Bodog Beat.

Had there been the slightest chance Woods´s "injury" would have lowered his chances of winning the US Open there is absolutely no way he would have teed off. Tiger is a perfectionist you see.

Next time Woods plays a shot out of a bunker, make a note of the song and dance he makes about sand going in his eyes, as if blinded by tear …

Poker Unclogged

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Poker Unclogged

Regular readers of Poker Unclogged may recall a passing mention to the best hand read ever: Stu Ungar called an all in bet of $32k with ten high because he had worked out that his opponent, Mansour Matloubi, had a busted straight draw with 4-5.

This week’s post provides more background to the life of Stu Ungar, the only man to win three WSOP main event titles.

He was born in 1953, he had a genius IQ and was a professional gambler at 14. Cards were his forte but horses his weakness: he squandered the millions he won playing at the tables punting at the track.

He started as a gin rummy player - at 15, he borrowed $500 and bought into a …

Ron To Do One?

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Cristiano Ronaldo To Do One?

Sir Alex Fergie may have his pensioner’s pants in a twist after next season’s league fixtures were announced – not enough easy games after Champions League matches, apparently – but he’d be better off directing his fury in another direction. Latest reports today reckon Cristiano Ronaldo has made up his mind to bugger off to Real Madrid, and as soon as Euro 2008 is over, he wants the move rubber-stamped.

Sources close to the player (yeah, that old chestnut, but still, where would transfer gossip be without ‘em?) claim Ronaldo will do ‘whatever it takes’ to swing a move to Real Madrid. Whatever ‘whatever it takes’ means, Beat is not quite sure. Will he go on strike? Burn his boots? Bawl …

Angelique Is Back With Her Sexy Lob

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Angelique kicks off!

Remember our lovely little blog about the virtuous Austrian and German topless women’s footy teams? Well inspired by yesterday’s little morale boosting story we thought we’d get on the blower to Angelique and commission her to a spot of skills action. As you saw from her abilities last week, she knows how to handle a ball or two.

So once again we present the glorious goddess that is Angelique doing her thing with a football, but for now Angelique takes a break from soccer AND her bra.

If that hasn’t inspired you to place a wager or two on the football, then we don’t know what will. Check out Bodog’s Euro 2008 odds.

Romania Break The Rules

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Adrian Mutu

Now come on – who saw this coming? Admit it, no-one. When the draw for Group C was made, it was all about which two of France, Italy and Holland would make it through to the quarter-finals. No-one gave two hoots about Romania. They were expected to be on the receiving end of three hammerings, and then clear off back home nice and quietly, thank you very much.

Not Romania. Those rebels have clearly no regard for the order of things at Euro 2008, and tonight, Victor Piturca’s team can cause a sensation by qualifying ahead of the 2006 World Cup finalists if they get the right result against Holland.

Yes, Holland have won both their games, scoring seven goals in the …
