Here at Bodog HQ if there’s a tangent we’ll find it, in fact there are more angles knocking around here than in a trigonometry handbook. Today may be Friday 13th but let’s hope there’s nothing scary or unlucky about it for England’s cricketers as they square up to the Kiwis (again) for the Twenty20 International match at Old Trafford. 

After this the five One Day Internationals will really kick off, in fact the last few meetings that the gruesome twosome (collectively speaking!) had at the ODIs meant the Kiwis walked away with a 3-1 victory.  So there will be lots for England to prove, captain Paul Collingwood will probably feel the pinch more than most as he only scored 32 runs …

Cometh the hour, cometh the man, as someone very wise once said (not sure who, but it was probably Jose Mourinho). And, in Italy’s hour of need, coach Roberto Donadoni has turned to one man as he attempts to guide his team through Group C: Alessandro Del Piero.

After Italy’s 3-0 defeat to Holland on Monday – their worst result for bloomin’ ages – the Azzurri must get something out of today’s match against Romania. We know a thing or three about football here at the Beat. All along we´ve been saying how overrated those Hermans were. This time last week we wrote:

"Watermelons going for 3,000 quid, Real Madrid offering Cristiano Ronaldo 300k a week, it´s a crazy, overpriced age we live in but nothing tops the criminal odds that the bookies are quoting for Germany to win Euro 2008. 

"This is a team was thrashed 3-0 at home to the Czech Republic (eventually finished below them during qualification). This is a side that could only muster a draw with John Toshack´s inept Wales. The sun bed nabbers couldn´t even beat Belarus in last week´s friendly."

Cursing, swearing, potty-mouth behaviour - here at Bodog Beat we love a bit of it! Nothing turns us on more than a fit bird doing her impression of a truck driver, nay a navvy of yesteryear (minus the tashe and mutton-schops)! Here’s a no-brainer for you – reports from Spain suggest that Valencia are going to increase David Villa’s price tag. Duh! You don’t say!

Villa has been one of European football’s deadliest strikers for the last few years now, but his superb hat-trick in Spain’s 4-1 win over Russia – their opening match at Euro 2008 – has suddenly sent his transfer value soaring sky-high. He’s also rocketed to the top of every major club’s wanted list. Who wouldn’t want a striker like that in their team next season?
