We know that the two musical divas act like royalty… maybe this is the reason why!

Oh dear oh dear we think that the IPL is set to cause some major ructions all round. The websites don’t work and all hell is letting loose. And now seeing that the world has sat back and watched the drama of the Indian Premier League unfold, some moneybags somewhere have had a 100 watt idea.

With most of the British cricketers vetoing the IPL because of their county cricket commitments, it allowed us to see the lie of the land. It is appropriate for a week that began with the London Marathon that the EPT Final at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort has been a punishing ordeal. Day 4 was meant to see the 40 runners whittled down to a final table of 8 but play closed at 1am with 10 individuals still riffling their chips.

One man who didn’t quite last the distance was Claudio Pagano who, when he cashed out in 22nd place, was reluctantly forced to leave his son, Luca, chasing for family glory and depriving the final table of some Oedipal dynamics. The new wave of Chelsea fans that arrived on the scene shortly after the club started looking like they would win things are in a state of panic on the eve of tonight´s away match against Everton.

Defeat for the club who´s playing fortunes are falling faster than UK house prices will have them rummaging in the back of their wardrobes for a new football shirt to wear down the pub.

We’re so used to Britney Spears being in trouble with the law that we really can’t get our head around someone else in the entourage being in hot water. It’s never nice to lose a child and its even worse if you’ve spent years watching that child destroy himself. Much like football hero George Best, who died in 2005 aged 59 after a long and fierce battle against alcoholism. It is said that his father Dickie Best never quite got over losing the footy ace son that made football history.

Dickie died at the age of 88, surrounded by his family at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald, Northern Ireland. A source told the Sun Newspaper that he had died of a broken heart:

"Dickie never got over it. I have no doubt he died of a broken heart."

Widower, Dickie who had six children was admitted to hospital four weeks ago …
