Leona Lewis Tops US Album Charts Now

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Leona Lewis

Well who would’ve thought that Simon Cowell’s favourite protégée, Leona “Bleeding Heart” Lewis would be top of the US charts? After all that vomit-inducing PR spin on the Oprah Winfrey Show, there was only one predicted result for Leona.

Must be gutting for the likes of Kylie Minogue who tried and failed to crack the States, twice! Mini popstrel Minogue seemed to have made all the right noises - from performing on reality TV shows (although we reckon dressing up as a gimp was going a bit too far) to telling lesbian icon (debatable but the search engines love it!), Ellen De Generes that she was mis-diagnosed with cancer.

Then her album flops - now we’re not graduates of the …

Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan In More Hot Water!

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Ronnie O'Sullivan

Snooker owes a lot to Ronnie O´Sullivan for keeping what is sometimes a struggling sport on the front and back pages and his lewd comments at the recent China Open have again created plenty of publicity.

It´s touch ironic that the extra column inches are a result of Ronnie joking about the number of inches he possesses in the trouser department.

The Rocket was overheard making lewd remarks inviting a female member of the press to perform fellatio on him shortly after his defeat to Marco Fu.

The dead-ringer for Noel Gallagher then made a quip about the size of his chopper before appearing to simulate a sexual act with a microphone. Ronnie now …

Calzaghe v Hopkins: Big Bad Bernard!

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Joe Calzaghe v Bernard Hopkins

Bernard Hopkins is 43 years old. But he doesn’t look like any other 43-year-old on the planet. Have you seen pictures of this guy with this top off? Then you’ll know what we’re talking about. There isn’t an ounce of spare flesh on the fella – he’s lean and very, very mean. When Joe Calzaghe steps into the ring with Hopkins he’d better make no mistake – this is one very tough fighter indeed. Hopkins will do anything – anything – to win a fight.

Many boxers talk about doing things the hard way, winning the fight of life on the streets before winning fights in the ring. But Hopkins isn’t full of hot-air bulls**t, he’s been through it. One of …

Day 3 EPT Monte Carlo

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
EPT Monte Carlo

When you are a kid, plenty of things bring joy into your life: Christmas, pets and farting. Some of these linger through to adulthood but one that is usually left in the sandpit is blowing bubbles. Unless you have a very varied social network, you don’t see a lot of thirty-somethings dipping a bit of plastic into a small cylinder of washing up liquid, then pursing their lips and slowly blowing. Not even in The Masons.

However, the action during Day 3 of the final of the EPT at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort was akin to watching the world’s most patient kid attempting to blow and sustain a momentous bubble – at first, everyone watching was mesmerised, wondering …

Wino Gets Ultimatum From Label

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Amy Winehouse

Oh dear it looks like Amy Winehouse needs to pay heed because her career as sultry soul singer maybe on its way down the pan. Lucian Grainge the European boss of Wino’s record label, Universal has warned her to stay out of trouble or they won’t be releasing another album. A source told the Sun:

“Amy has been reminded of her responsibilities. Unless she is clean she will not be allowed to release another album. She took notice when Lucian talked to her earlier in the year and agreed to go to rehab. But she didn’t take it seriously enough. They would never release her from her deal; they would just not put an album out."

Could this be the real unravelling …

Paris Hilton, A Horse And The Son Of An MP

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Paris Hilton

Publicity junkie and hotel heiress Paris Hilton was upstaged by a horse during a night out in London hot spot and royal watering hole, Mahiki.

You know Paris is in town when all the major players in the publicity whore stakes come out to play. Holding onto her crown for dear life Paris made a paid appearance at London nightspot Mahiki. The club reportedly paid the heiress £80k for the pleasure of her company. Which seems a little ridiculous, we all know she’ll turn up to the opening of an envelope for the promise of a scrum of paps. They could have saved a bob or two although £80k is about the bill Harry usually racks up on a visit to …

Posh 'n' Becks Still Livin The American Dream…

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
David Beckham

They might be holed up in LA as David Beckham plies his diminishing talents for his Sunday League team the LA Picnic’s, but that hasn’t stopped Posh from carving out a successful career as a fashion designer. Oh.

But oh, what’s this? Posh’s glittering fashion career seems to be over before it’s even started.  We didn’t think Stella McCartney and co would be quaking in their faux otter lined Wagyu beef hide boots and it turns out we was right, Posh can’t even flog a pair of jeans, albeit stupidly expensive dVb jeans.  Now Beat UK is no fashion expert but surely naming a clothing brand after your initials it’s one step from bunging your Christian names together to name your …

Wayne Rooney To Captain England

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Wayne Rooney

Parlours, prostitutes, punch-ups and Premierships… Wayne Rooney is only 22 but he´s certainly packed a fair bit into his short life.

And England´s best player by some distance looks set to add another notch on the totem pole of life according to national manager Fabio Capello.

"Rooney is young but I believe in the future he could be captain of England," said Capello this week.

If you´d asked Bodog for odds about Rooney skippering England a few years ago when the teenage tearaway was hanging with hookers they might have offered you 10,000/1. Not any more.

When Rooney transferred to Manchester United for zillions many of us considered it only a matter of time before a player touched by genius went down a similar …
