CAPT Salzburg Open Final

CAPT Salzburg

If he has a significant other, Gerhard Schiesser, winner of the Salzburg Open, may be tempted to return to his place of triumph tonight as the Salzburg Casino is hosting Ladies’ Day every Wednesday in April. He had a fairy-tale weekend after opening a poker treasure-chest and discovering €47,880, so he can more than afford the €25 entrance fee.

Not only does his lucky lady receive the amount in chips, she is automatically entered into a ‘shooting star’ competition, in which a lucky winner is awarded a professional photo-shoot. There will be a grand finale in December and a jury will announce the Casino’s ‘Palace Queen’ 2008. Maybe the enchanted Gerhard and his princess could be blessed with further happiness. …

Arsenal Eggxit Too Much For Arsene To Take

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has ended up with oeuf on his face after his prediction that Arsenal could win the Champions and Premier League double hit the buffers at Anfield. But if that wasn´t bad enough the Gallic moaner is blaming refereeing decisions for Arsenal´s defeat over two legs to Liverpool.

Result? A two-hour op and 50 stitches. Ouch!

Next, Cech’s back-up Carlo Cudicini, who’d probably walk into most other Premier League teams, pinged a …

Pete Doherty Back In Jail

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Pete Doherty

Occasional musician, jogger, scientologist and ex-druggie Pete Doherty is taking a break from live performances for 14 weeks.  Management have blamed overwork and exhaustion for the break. Oh hang on, sorry, our mistake, Pete will soon be looking for veins in a cell with Amy Winehouse’s Blake Incarcerated as he’s been banged up like a good-un for yup, you guessed it drugs offences and breaking his probation.

Now call us cynical but we weren’t really buying this clean cut Pete image – despite the numerous tales of jogging, marathons and scientology. In its murky past Beat has been acquainted with a bottle of Benilyn (Drowsy) and we recognise the signs. Falling into Amy Winehouse’s gaff at 4 am looking like you’ve …
