Mariah Scary Divas It Up In London

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Mariah Carey

The ever so slightly scary and little bit wrong diva, Mariah Carey is back and mincing around London on the promotional trail for her latest single “Touch my body” which has gone straight to the top of the US billboard charts.

Taken from her new album E = MC “Touch my body” is her 18th number one beating Elvis Presley’s 17 number one’s, an achievement she describes as a festive moment. Confused? So were we. Despite the mathematical equation she’s not the sharpest tool in the shed. But we must congratulate Scary for making very little talent go a very long way. Who needs a Stephen Hawking brain anyway when you’ve sold 180 million records worldwide?

Earlier this week in Miss Scary …

EPT San Remo: Day 2

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
EPT San Remo

It’s hard not to be impressed by San Remo. Beautiful spring days, tasty ice cream and friendly locals. However, as some took their siesta, poker types were keen not to be caught napping in the city’s casino as 208 players tussled for an EPT crown on Day 2 of the tournament.

With the top 72 being paid, the players had roughly a 33% chance of landing something for their efforts. As the bubble approached, things became typically tight, as players close to the exit door eyed their opponents and prayed someone else would bite the bullet. The man with the metaphorical slug in his mouth turned out to be Evert Jan Dongergoor who, although he leaves with no cash, he …

Dickie Bird's Charity Did Kids Out Of Cash

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Dickie Bird Foundation

Do our ears deceive us? What’s this we hear about the British institution that is ex Cricket umpire Dickie Bird? Only that his charity has been done for not dishing cash out to the beneficiaries. The Dickie Bird Foundation was set up in 2004 to help disadvantaged kids who were talented at sport. But to date it has only handed out just £7,500 from the £130,000 that it raised.

But our Dickie has said that the issues would be "satisfactorily resolved". Apparently £120,000 was used to run the charity for fundraising, marketing and consultancy purposes. Another £50k has disappeared with the ex-chief executive who is being chased by lawyers..

Patrons of the charity include such names as former Prime Minister …

Bodog's Office Sweepstake Tips For Grand National 2008

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
The Grand National 2008

We’re all getting itchy feet here in the Bodog office. One more day to go as the biggest race of the Aintree Grand National Meeting 2008 gets under way. The John Smith’s Grand National has caused debates and bust-ups alright, but underneath it all we share a love of that fine race and can’t wait to throw our money at it.

The fillies in the office are considering the sentimental approach, one said the love of her life was called Simon hence, her putting dibs on Dominic Elsworth to ride the winner. The rest of us are torn between Slim Pickings jockeyed by BJ Geraghty by virtue of a great run last year with the 3rd place finish. Then there’s …

When Naomi Campbell Attacks

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Naomi Campbell

Beat has had some high maintenance girlfriends in its time, you know the thing  - random tantrums after saying the wrong thing about a pair of shoes, hugs and chats after sex about our ‘feelings’ (er, feeling a bit tired actually love), traipsing round TopShop and H&M at the weekend – that kind of thing. However there is one woman that epitomises the very definition of high maintenance, and mentalist for that matter. Please step forward Naomi Campbell.

Naomi has flirted with the cells as often as she has with middle aged multi-millionaires and now the world’s number one psychopathic supermodel is back facing another dose of community service.

The latest instalment of Campbell Rage happened at Terminal 5, giving BA yet more …
