Bodog's Housewife's Tips For Winning The Grand National 2008

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
The Grand National 2008

To achieve inner peace it is important for a man to understand his limitations I am told. Five pints rather than six, one donner instead of two, the list goes on…

And we´re fast approaching that legendary punting day of the year when at least I know I am totally incapable of finding the winner - the Grand National.

This of course doesn´t mean I won´t be having a punt - I´m not smart or disciplined enough to do that - even though I´ve been having a crack at it and failing miserably for nigh on 30 years.

Terminal 5 at Heathrow has got more chance of successfully managing a baggage carousel than I have of hitting the jackpot at Aintree. I´ve given …

Day 1: Aintree Grand National Meeting 2008

Aintree Grand National Meeting 2008

So that’s the end of Day One of the Aintree Grand National Meeting 2008. And we couldn’t resist giving you a run down of what we consider to be the highlights of the day. In the Liverpool Hurdle, Blazing Bailey beat Inglis Drever (3rd) overturning the World Hurdle defeat at Cheltenham last month. In the well run contest Inglis Drever couldn’t keep pace on a course where he’s struggled before.

Inglis Drever is still favourite however to complete a four-timer in the World Hurdle 2009 at 4-1, but Blazing Bailey’s odds have shortened significantly to 8-1. But back at Cheltenham, his favourite course, we see no reason why Inglis can’t pull it off again in what Howard Johnson has confirmed …

Jerry Seinfeld

That’s the trouble with classic cars, they might look great but they often break down. And when you need a spare part can you find one? No not on your nelly. But what happens if you happen to be behind the wheel when calamity strikes? Why don’t we ask Jerry Seinfeld, star of hit comedy Seinfeld. Well we would but we’re just not on the Seinfeld hotline - it’s probably jammed with commiseratory callers.

Jezza happened to be cruising around in his 1967 Fiat btm when the brakes failed. Bummer, hope he wasn’t going downhill at the time. The accident happened early on Saturday morning at East Hampton, the car even rolled over, but the funny man cheated death and escaped …

CAPT Salzburg

CAPT Salzburg

There are many reasons to visit Salzburg. It was the setting for parts of The Sound of Music: what could be better than being surrounded by The Alps, closing your eyes and singing “High On the Hill Was a Lonely Goatherd…..”?

After sating your yodelling needs, you could then meander to the city’s Casino Salzburg, where, after sampling the restaurant’s ‘Dinner and Roulette Package’ (the price of the meal is determined by where the ball rests), you could them explore the canyon of love that is the house’s poker room.

This week is a particularly good time as the casino is hosting an event on the Casinos Austria Poker Tour.  The main event is a €2000 buy in beginning on Saturday, but …

Bodog's US Masters Inside Scoop On Henrik Stenson

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
Henrik Stenson

I got talking to a caddy at last week´s Andalucia Open who dished out some blinding gossip. Much of it centered around a European Tour player who has a penchant for copping off with Premiership footballers´ wives.

I can´t name him for fear of reprisals but I am allowed to share with you the name of this month´s Masters winner.

It´s been a long time between drinks but Europe´s Henrik Stenson is set to buck the trend and become the continent´s first Augusta winner since Jose Maria Olazabal in 1999. This aggressive Swedish golfer´s game has moved up several leagues in the past three seasons and my well placed source believes Stenson now demonstrates all the …
