Victoria Beckham Gets Amy Winehouse Roberto Cavalli Gig

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,

It’s like the blind leading the blind in the land of celebrity. Victoria Beckham is using her influence (yes she apparently does have some) as a fashionista to do some good for ailing Amy Winehouse.

Posh is thought to have had a word in her mate Roberto Cavalli’s ear about her love of Wino’s sense of style. Lo and behold the fashion designer is reported to have offered the self-harming junkie a lucrative contract to wear stacks of his clothes.(Well until they end up on that stall in Camden market, next to Pete the pirate CD guy.)

A source said: "Cavalli was suitably taken in by what Victoria had to say that he’s now determined to get Amy on board."

So …

Poker To Become Olympic Event

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
hands

As you know the Poker scene is a hive of activity and we like nothing more than to keep you up to speed with as much as our grubby little hands can get hold of! Here’s the latest thing to get us excited.

The movement for poker to be recognised as an Olympic event believes it is time for the game to proudly take its place alongside popular events such canoeing, badminton and sprinting. As the Beijing Games are only a few months away, it is too late for poker to be included this time, but lobbyists are optimistic that we will see cards shuffled in time for London 2012.

At the moment there are negotiations taking place with the International …

David Bentley, Mister Popular

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,

David Bentley certainly knows how to win friends, doesn’t he?

Earlier this week, Bentley was the victim of a odd rant from Reading’s straggly-haired winger-tramp Stephen Hughes, who muttered: ‘I don’t know what all the fuss is about… Bentley ain’t bloody Maradona’. He was right, but it seemed a bit harsh, and a bit of a pointless dig.

Now we know better because, in the space of one newspaper interview, David Bentley has managed to moan about playing for England and, more or less reveal his plans to quit Blackburn as soon as possible.

“It wasn’t a very enjoyable game,” said Bentley, who won his 4th, not his 40th, cap against France. “It was a half-hearted, 50% effort.”

And so on to …

Bodog's Tips For Aintree Grand National Meeting 2008

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
czech

Well, after a vintage Cheltenham here we are again anticipating another feast of National Hunt racing at Aintree, culminating in the Grand National on Saturday.

Many of the horses who ran so well at Cheltenham will be out again although it is worth remembering that horses who have a hard race at Cheltenham do not show their form at Aintree.

Paul Nicholls has confirmed the reappearance of two of his brilliant horses - Kauto Star and Master Minded. Kauto Star has been entered in the totesport Bowl on Thursday over a slightly shorter distance than the Cheltenham Gold Cup, 3m 1f. He will start a short priced favourite and is the likely winner but he did have a very hard race at …

Sarah Michelle Gellar Porn Star

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
buffy

Sarah Michelle Gellar has taken Buffy to a different level, she’s not only dropped the ‘Y’ but everything else by the looks of it too (we hope). It’s not the fact that she’s kissing ass rather than kicking it in Southland Tales, where she plays a porn star, but the fact that she’s been nabbing sexy props off set. Naughty minx will have to enroll at the Winona Ryder School of Correction if she’s not careful.

To keep adding the shocks to the list, Gellar has a body double!! And we thought she was slinky and sexy all on her own right (as said pic from courtesy of Samuel Goldwyn films shows). Calm down, as far as we can see …

Champions League: Chelsea v Fenerbahce

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,

Tick, tick, tick. What’s that sound? Why, it’s the slow ticking down of the clock before Roman Abramovic totally loses patience and does something drastic at Chelsea FC. The man who has pumped a never-ending amount of cash into his footy club play-thing can’t be happy that his bunch of superstars have yet to win him the Champions League. Another blank year would not go down well.

At least in the past Chelsea have managed to win something by way of consolation. But this year, they’re out of the FA Cup, they stuffed up the League Cup against Spurs, and the league title looks to be heading Man Utd’s way, again. The only hope Avram Grant has of having onto his …

Champions League: Liverpool v Arsenal Kolo Shut It!

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
kolo

He´s talking the talk for his team, but will they walk the walk…?

Kolo Toure has really stuck his neck out by insisting that Liverpool will be running scared of facing Arsenal when they clash in the quarter finals of the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Hmmm. With Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres in such superb form I don´t think so Kolo. Toure seems to forget he is talking about a side that has reached the Champions League final twice in the past three seasons. Some pre-match nerves in the dressing room maybe, but not scared.

The Ivory Coast player looks to have committed a school boy error here. He´s only gone and provided the Liverpool players with an extra incentive to ram …

Champions League: Liverpool v Arsenal

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,

As much as I love watching Alan Sugar bark gruffly at a bunch of egotistical, power-dressed numpties, there’s only one channel the TV in my house is going to be tuned into on Wednesday night. And that’s whichever one is showing Arsenal v Liverpool in the Champions League.

With all four English teams still in the cup, it was always odds-on that two of them would be drawn together in the last eight. Thank God it isn’t another repeat of the Liverpool v Chelsea yawnfest which induced sleep comas around the country a few years back. Instead, we’ve been handed a cracker. And to make things even more compelling, these two meet each other in the Premier League match sandwiched between …
