The Wynn Classic Final

And so Las Vegas can breathe again. After a gruelling four days of play, the main event of The Wynn Classic has finally spat out a winner. The player that managed to avoid the fold catastrophe was Chicago’s Chris Moore, (that lovely pic comes from lasvegasvegas.com and FlipChip - just so you know) whose ability to ride the cusp has now left him enriched by $692,286.

He had started the heads-up action with 1,470,000 to Ryan Young’s 2,100,000 but within five minutes, there was a hand that left Moore nostril-deep in chips. Young, on the button, decided to make it 50k to go and Chris called. The flop landed J-8-5. After a check from Moore, Young bet 100k. He was smacked back …

England v New Zealand Third Test

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
england

I´ve heard some blinding jokes this week but none as hilarious as this little gem…

On the eve of their deciding Test with New Zealand, Paul "Canny" Collingwood reckons England’s top six batsmen are ready to "open the floodgates". Ho ho ho.

It´s a statement even Baron Von Munchausen would view with ridicule given the appalling lack of big scores from their willow wielders.

By the way, "Canny" can also be spelt “Canhe”, as in, can he get it off the square?

Across England’s five winter Tests only one top six batsman - Alastair Cook - has hit a century (against Sri Lanka).

Indeed, the first half dozen in the batting order have only mustered six half centuries between them in the last four innings …

Will Amy Sing D-I-V-O-R-C-E?

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,

Are our ears deceiving us? Maybe, maybe not because Wino’s jailbird drug-loving hubby has asked her for a divorce. Well there’s the shocker, we thought that this parasitic relationship would never end as the endless supplies of lolly from Wino’s stash was too hard for Blake Fielder-Civil to resist, especially when it comes to the crack-pipe.

But Wino no longer needs her "babe", as Blake number two (Blake Wood) is constantly by her side. Despite being a one-woman tornado of self-destruction, it looks like Amy no longer needs or pines for her hubby like she used to.She’s far too busy stripping off and doing nude photo-shoots for Breast Cancer - very commendable we might add. A source told The Sun Newspaper:

"He …

FA Stand Firm On Taylor

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,

It´s not often that we get a chance to say anything positive about our beleaguered FA but the return to full Premier League action of Martin Taylor this weekend, after his three game suspension for "serious foul play", provides us with an ample opportunity.

That´s because the FA showed some backbone for a change and slammed the door on Sepp Blatter at FIFA who had called for a far lengthier suspension for the Birmingham player.  It is reported that Blatter "took a personal interest in the case" and asked for the FA´s files on the matter to be sent to him.

The challenge that left Arsenal´s Croatian striker Eduardo with a broken leg sparked a gross overreaction by a lot of people …

Ronaldo - Something Like a Phenomenon!

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
ron

So now we know – Cristiano Ronaldo’s big secret is out. The kid’s a total phenomenon. How else to explain the genius-like performances, week in, week out, from Manchester United’s Portuguese winger?

United boss Alex Ferguson remarked recently that Ronaldo has been carrying his team this season. That’s some claim – and he’s not wrong. In a campaign during which Rooney and Tevez have sparkled only intermittently, and Louis Saha barely at all, Ronaldo has dazzled constantly. Last night’s double against Bolton took his tally for the season to 33, famously overtaking the iconic George Best, who notched 32 in 1967-68. The boy from Lisbon is intent on carving out his own place in Old Trafford history.

Against Bolton he was superb. …

Gavin Rees v Andreas Kotelnik: Will Enzo Smile Again?

by Bodog Beat News Ticker,
enzo

This Saturday Newbridge boy Gavin Rees will be fighting Ukrainian Andreas Kotelnik at the International Arena in Cardiff. The 27 year-old WBA World Light-Welterweight champion met Souleymane M’Baye (a win on points) in the Summer last year, but will be hoping to celebrate a win over Kotelnik in the first defence of his title. Staunchly patriotic Rees said:

"We’re a small country but we can really pack a punch, and people will see that on March 22 when I take on Kotelnik. He’s a classy fighter, but I love testing myself against the best, and I’ll go to war if I have to. I spent years waiting for my opportunity to fight for a world title, and I’m not going to …
