Seasonal Affective Disorder is the official term for what me and you like to call the winter blues, and it seems Arsenal’s squad hate this time of year. Last February, the Gunners’ season collapsed as they lost the first leg of their Champions League second round clash against PSV Eindhoven, and then crashed out of the FA Cup at Blackburn. Just a couple of week later, they could only draw at home to PSV, and that was that. Season over, in terms of challenging for trophies, in a matter of a couple of short, bleak, cold, winter weeks.

It would be very wrong of us not to mention the fortunes or maybe the potential misfortunes of AC Milan ahead of their Champions League last 16 first leg clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The big news on the eve of Arsenal´s crunch Champions League tie with mighty AC Milan is that keeper Manuel Almunia´s Hertfordshire home is haunted.

Chains rattling in the night, the stereo system coming on of its own accord and a ghoulish apparition in monk’s outfit holding a candle… it´s all going down at the Spaniard´s Abbots Langley pad.

Almunia and his terrified missus are certain the gaff, that sits on the site of an old mental hospital, is haunted. But we´re not convinced.
